MICHELIN Guide Thailand joined 25 Bangkok restaurants recognised by MICHELIN Guide Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket & Phang-Nga 2021 for the “Red Spoon | ปันอิ่ม ยิ้มสอง” project. Throughout July, the restaurants promoted special menus in a “buy one, donate one” campaign to send support and nourishment for strength and encouragement. This resulted in 2,613 meals being sent to staff at the Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute and to Chumchon Ae-ad Pattana Mai families in the Klong Toey communities.
This campaign also gave foodies an opportunity to help their favourite restaurants by sharing delicious meals with medical personnel and disadvantaged families. Participating restaurants brought in over 400,000 THB during the month for much needed economic support.
The 25 special “Red Spoon” menus from Bangkok’s tastiest restaurants were available from 1-31 July 2021. As an added bonus, an order of 650 THB or more per receipt received a free copy of MICHELIN Guide Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket & Phang-Nga 2021.
During this COVID-19 crisis, everyone involved in the campaign wanted to send encouragement to comfort and invigorate healthcare workers and underprivileged communities, as well as help the participating restaurants weather this storm and continue to thrive into the future.
Great appreciation goes out to the 25 MICHELIN-listed restaurants who partnered with MICHELIN Guide: Baan, Baan Phadthai, Pad Thai Fai Ta Lu (Dinsor Road Branch), Tonkin Annam, Indus, Blue Elephant, Polo Fried Chicken (Soi Polo), Supanniga Eating Room (Tha Tian), Somtum Der (Si Lom), Sri Trat, La Dotta, Nonna Nella by Lenzi, Phed Phed Bistro, 100 Mahaseth (Si Phraya), The Local, Kiew Kai Ka, Thai Niyom, Sae Phun, Dai Lou, Sanyod (Sathon-Bang Rak), Lay Lao (Ari), Ongtong Khaosoi (Ari Branch), Konchong Konprung, Khao (Ekkamai) and Aesop’s.
