Feeling thirsty? Pick your poison at these fine eateries that have amazing bars.

For some of us, a delicious meal is not complete without an equally delightful beverage. This means more than having a choice of a wine list with four reds and four whites or a selection of highballs.

Thankfully, Bangkok suffers no shortage of restaurants where flavour creativity extends to concocting cocktails to go hand-in-hand with their top-notch dishes. Rest assured, you’ll be in expert hands at these eight MICHELIN-rated restaurants with an outstanding bar and an impressive cocktail menu, for those who take their drinks seriously.

This fine-dining destination that brings together the best of East and West through their progressive cuisine is helmed by its Korean-American heartthrob Chef Dan Bark. They really want you to have the full experience for all the senses, so there’s more than the usual wine pairing option here. For those who like cocktails or spirits, there’s a complete cocktail pairing that goes hand in hand with the whole menu . If you aren’t into booze, there’s also mocktail pairings—which are just as carefully and creatively curated by their mixologists and chefs for a memorable meal.

Eat Me (MICHELIN-recommended, MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2022)
Eat Me is another Bangkok restaurant with an outstanding bar that keep us returning for their quality dining and drinks. Known for its international cuisine, Eat Me does not merely handpick popular dishes from around the world to include in their menu by Chef Tim Butler. What they excel at is blending flavours from different cultures to create delicious hybrid dishes. Think of wagyu tartare served as a larb or clam chowder with fermented sausages. You can be sure that their cocktails are just as impressive. Choose a signature classic from Eat Me Creations or go for the Sip Some Thai category inspired by Thai food, if you feel like drinking in local flavours. Both are sure to thrill your senses!

No need to wonder if one MICHELIN-Starred Canvas offers anything good to sip alongside their artful dishes by Chef Riley Sanders. As part of the Watermelon Group, the restaurant’s sister establishments are leading drinking holes and Bangkok favourites: Rabbit Hole, Crimson Room, and Bar Marco. There is a wine pairing as well as healthier tea and kombucha pairings to choose from. Cocktails and mocktails won’t disappoint either with Thailand’s award-winning and top mixology talent, Supawit “Palm” Muttarattana, tending bar and serving as the Group Bar Director of Watermelon Group.

So, the same creative mixology flows from Vesper to 80/20. Taan (MICHELIN-recommended, MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2022)
This creative Thai restaurant by Chef Monthep Kamolsilp proudly presents its philosophy of serving “Hyper Local Innovative Cuisine”. This means highlighting the finest Thai ingredients while supporting sustainable practices with local producers. Besides intriguing contemporary Thai dishes, you’ll also find a drinks list featuring Thai-inspired cocktails that continues the restaurant’s concept. Baan Suriyasai (MICHELIN-recommended, MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2022)
Drink in the glamorous lifestyle of Thailand’s great and grand during the early 1900s at Baan Suriyasai. This grand old colonial house, home to the noble Bunnag clan, has had its 100-plus years of grandeur restored, preserved, and brought to life. The food here is delicately cooked in royal fashion following ancient recipes. Alongside their dining room, you’ll find a tea salon and Content Bar—a cocktail bar that doubles as a museum showcasing the history of Thai spirits. Their drinks list offers an extensive array of cocktails filled with Thai flair. Originals created by their bartenders and mixologists have won awards at various competitions.

Sri Trat (Bib Gourmand, MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2022)
This is another Thai restaurant with a fantastic bar. At this eatery, eastern fare from Trat province, cooked according to the Chef Wongwich “Ack” Sripinyo’s mother’s recipes, is the order of the day. Look no further for the province’s famed dishes, such as pork curry with chamuang leaves, stir-fried tiger prawns with chilli and salt, and boiled sea bass with salacca, among many other mouth-watering dishes. The mocktails and signature cocktails are creatively inspired by all things Thai, including Thai spirits. At Sri Trat, the bar and dining areas are clearly separated, so you can begin your meal with pre-dinner drinks at the bar first. Or you can hop over to the bar if the party’s still going after your meal.

Mia (MICHELIN-recommended, MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2022)
This contemporary European restaurant infused with Eastern panache by Chef Top Russell is set in a two-storey house. Not to be missed is The Curtain, their bar which sits on the ground floor and serves meticulously crafted cocktails. We highly recommend hanging out here for a few drinks and appetisers first, then moving on to take in the equally charming ambiance at the dining area. On top of their extensive classic cocktails list, don’t forget to sample their signature Cloudy-dee. It’s a heady mix of Cointreau and fermented rice, but if you are looking for something else, their seasoned bartenders are more than happy to make recommendations.
