Celebrate Mother's Day In These Michelin Restaurants In Hong Kong

This Mother's Day, show your appreciation for Mum — as well as the restaurants that have continued to keep us fed in these trying times — with these exclusive menus this weekend.

Mother's Day desserts

The global Covid-19 pandemic and the challenges it has brought to Hong Kong over the past three months has made many among us realise and better appreciate the things we have long granted, be it spending time at home with family, catching up with loved ones, or the ability to freely dine out in your favourite restaurants.

This Mother's Day, and in the spirit of celebrating the present moment — while observing the necessary hygiene practices and social distancing measures, of course — we round up our selection of Michelin-rated restaurants where you can enjoy special offers and pampering meals with your mother, while supporting the cherished Hong Kong restaurants that have helped to keep the city's residents fed through times of struggle and moments of celebration.

A trip to Italy may be off the cards for now, but you can still treat the most important lady in your life to a taste of Italy at the lauded three-MICHELIN-star restaurant by Hong Kong's most prominent Italian chef, Umberto Bombana. The restaurant, which is usually closed on Sundays, will specially open its doors for Mother's Day to offer a 7-course set menu that includes delightful creations such as a starter of in-season white asparagus with Oscietra caviar, king crab served with sea urchin and crab jus, as well as crowd-favourites such as the Baby Lamb from Pyrenees with olives and caponata. Round off the menu with a dessert of pistachio, strawberry and milk gelato — a sweet and sour creation that reflects the myriad complexities of parenthood, says chef Bombana, himself a father of two. The menu costs $1880 per person with additional wine pairing available at $880.
