Make the best of Father’s Day on 20 June this year, given that it falls towards the end of Singapore’s Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) where dining rooms remain closed.
This is the opportunity to try a MICHELIN-recommended restaurant’s cuisine with your family in the cosiness of your own home, as many chefs have adapted quickly to bring their best dishes to your table. While everyone is looking forward to dining out again, dining at home can’t be that bad with one (or more!) of the luxurious takeaway spreads listed here. From comfort food to specially created dishes just for dad, here's to treating the father figures in your life.
Odette (3 MICHELIN Star, MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2019)
Pull out the stops to impress the family with Odette At Home’s Father’s Day Elegance set ($498, feeds 4 pax). The repast from chef Julien Royer and team brings you a selection of their triumphant favourites, of which the whole roasted poularde de Bresse and Niigata rice with Grande Tradition albufera sauce will occupy your praises. The claypot rice-like crust with crispy chicken skin never fails to steal the show, and is a fine introduction for those who have not yet scored a reservation at Odette. The menu also includes crab gourmandises topped with Kristal caviar, pâté en croûte with duck, foie gras and Perigord jelly, an artisan cheese platter with Brillat Savarin, Saint Nectaire, Comte and Fourme d’Ambert, apple tart Comme un Chausson, and a signature Odette sourdough Terre d’Auvergne and Bordier butter.
Pre-order by 19 June, 7pm for 20 June, 12-8pm only. Takeaway and delivery here
Candlenut (1 MICHELIN Star, MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2019)
Chef Malcolm Lee has created a Candlenut special just for Father’s Day, one which will intrigue Peranakan cuisine fans. It’s a Margaret River Angus beef short ribs Kapitan curry ($35), with the added texture of chopped candlenuts and kaffir lime leaves. For those more familiar with the Penang style chicken kapitan curry, this will be a rich contrast as it is more lemak (fat) with a meatier flavour.
Till 30 June, takeaway and delivery here (dine in available from 21 June)
Nouri (1 MICHELIN Star, MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2019)
Nouri At Home has blessed us with comfort food like the Perfection Burger ($44, with nori fries and a milkshake), and Spicy Dumpling Party (from $28). It’s now quickest fingers first to order the Father’s Day Seafood Platter ($225, feeds 2 to 4 pax) which comprises a Boston lobster tail, tiger prawns, oysters, Hokkaido king crab, scallop ceviche, marinated Galician octopus, potato and pickled white asparagus salad, and three sauces including garlic herb butter, mignonette and Marie Rose. Match it up with the vibrant Domaine Ellevin Chablis Premier Cru Vaucoupin 2018.
