MICHELIN Guide Ceremony 1 minute 06 December 2022

Inside the MICHELIN Star California Revelation Party and After Party

It’s Oscar night for chefs across the Golden State.

Monday nights are typically quiet for most restaurants, however, last night, there was a good reason. The MICHELIN Guide hosted its Star Revelation event toasting the brightest talents in the industry in grand fashion. The location for the party, the Petersen Automotive Museum provided the ideal backdrop as one, two, and three Star restaurants and chefs mingled with Bibendum and nibbled on bites from Badmaash, Bee Taqueria, and Tres LA. Helping satiate the crowd were drinks from Acqua Panna and San Pellegrino, Basil Hayden, Onda x Wine Access, and Remy Martin along with some bubbles to toast the winners (and the festive season) from M. Brugnon. But stealing the show were emcee Nia Renee Hill and MICHELIN Guide International Director Gwendal Poullennec.

As Chefs including Rachel Haggstrom of The Restaurant at Justin, Corey Lee and Jeong-In Hwang of San Ho Won, and Massimo Falsini of Caruso’s nabbed their jackets and Stars, the evening’s mood was decidedly joyous. And while others enjoyed the haute cars and equally haute cuisine—note the Petrossian caviar station—the message of the night was about community and championing each other. The big news of the night was when William Bradley of Addison took to the stage as the newest member of the Three Star club. Joining him were Dominique Crenn, Kyle and Katina Connaughton, and countless others who all cheered Bradley on with enthusiasm and verve.

However, it wouldn’t be a party without a tipple and some snacks afterwards and the crowd quickly migrated to hotspot, and newly crowned One Star restaurant Gwen. Inside, everyone from Josiah Citrin to David Kinch let their hair down and partied late into the night grooving to beats from DJ Brian Henry.
