Taan launches a brand new menu inspired by the ancient city of Ayutthaya
Taan, a Thai fine dining restaurant featured in the MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2023, led by Chef Monthep “Thep” Kamolsilp, proudly presents a tasting menu inspired by the ancient city of Ayutthaya, the birthplace of rice and the starting point of Siam's prosperity. The cuisine carries the essence of neighbouring countries, such as raw fish in chilli sauce served with clear tomato soup and Burmese-style pickled tea leaves, or Ayutthaya-style boat noodles that use pork slices instead of small noodles, reflecting the lives and adaptation of Ayutthaya's residents living alongside Chinese immigrants and trading goods on boats. The main dish is Khao Mok with oxtail soup, originating from the Muslim community during the Ayutthaya period. Chef Kamolsilp offers a Briyani-style Khao Mok seasoned with turmeric, curry powder, and spices like those from Pakistan, served with grilled meat, beef sauce, and oxtail gelatin soup.

Taan Ayutthaya Tasting Menu is priced at 3,190 THB++ per person.

Location: Floor 25, Siam@Siam Design Hotel Bangkok, 865 Rama 1 Road, Wang Mai, Pathumwan, Bangkok. For reservations or more information, please call +66 6 5328 7374.
