Live Update: 4 Brand-New Restaurants Listed In The MICHELIN Guide Thailand – October 2022

Four restaurants are joining The MICHELIN Guide Thailand!

Every month MICHELIN Guide Inspectors reveal details of new restaurants to be featured in MICHELIN Guide Thailand, ahead of the yearly launch ceremony when the MICHELIN Stars, Bib Gourmands and Green Stars are unveiled.

Restaurants in Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Phang-Nga will be added to the selection monthly, mostly on the last Wednesday of every month. The newly selected venues will feature on both the website and the app. There’s a special entry “New” created for those newly-listed restaurants for easy identification. Why not give them a try and see which ones you would add to your shortlist?

We are pleased to share the last four new additions of 2022 hand selected by the MICHELIN Inspectors!

Jhol, Bangkok
Indian-born, New York-based restaurateur Hari Nayak creates South Indian coastal cuisine rooted in his youth and transformed by his years of experience in world-class fine dining establishments; particularly representative is the delicious avocado mousse-filled Panipuri with passionfruit sauce. Meanwhile, the dining room balances vintage refinement with contemporary elegance and the beautiful Indian- and Thai-influenced cocktails are just as inspired.

Baan Pee Lek, Bangkok
Step inside this Northern and Central Thai restaurant hidden on a side street in Prawet District and you enter a charming dining room adorned with an old-fashioned wooden European decor. Opening the menu reveals dishes, many of which are unavailable elsewhere, that honour the owners’ birthplaces, Chiang Mai and Bangkok. Highlights include stir-fried beef with Massaman curry served with a puffy croissant, Yum Luang Prabang and fried minced pork with salted mackerel.

Uan Ja Noodle, Ayutthaya
A popular lunch spot for over half a century, they sell a prolific 100kg of meatballs a day. The buoyant balls playfully float in the noodle soup and the condiments are homemade, including a spicy, sour chilli vinegar sauce. Fresh-cooked or slow-cooked beef options are also available.

This simple restaurant, in a family home, serves some local dishes that can’t be found anywhere else. Specials are written on a whiteboard up front. Select from the fish of the day or choose the delicious steamed yellow curry with crab meat and an intense turmeric aroma and flavour.
