With the Year of the Tiger roaring in this 2022, these MICHELIN-listed restaurants in Singapore have curated an inviting and delicious array of spring-themed dine-in menus and takeaway delights to celebrate the Chinese New Year. From traditional yu sheng and poon choi platters, to delectable dishes brimming with seafood delights such as lobster and abalone, welcome the new year with prosperity, abundance, and an extremely satisfied appetite.

Revel in Szechuan Splendour at Two-MICHELIN-Starred Shisen Hanten


Specialising in Szechuan cuisine, 2 Star Shisen Hanten offers a bounty of festive dine-in set menus, à la carte springtime specials, and festive takeaway goodies to welcome the year of the tiger.

Dine-in: For reunions and gatherings, Shisen Hanten offers a range of eight auspiciously-themed set menus that all come with a yu sheng platter. Designed for intimate gatherings of two, all the way to celebrations with up to five guests, each menu ranges from S$128.80++ to S$388.80++ and highlights dishes starring abalone, bird's nest, and tiger prawns. Shisen Hanten also features seasonal à la carte springtime specials such as Braised Inaniwa Udon with Lobster and Roasted Garlic in Superior Golden Broth, which harp on the restaurant's Japanese roots, Braised Pork Ribs and Lotus Seed in Red Glutinous Rice Wine served with Golden Mantou, and specially handcrafted Poached Tiger Stripes Minced Pork Dumpling to mark the year of the tiger.

Takeaway & Gifting: Those opting to celebrate at home can also enjoy Shisen Hanten's Fortune Abalone & Salmon Yu Sheng (S$78/S$128) that comes in two sizes, catering to intimate celebrations and bigger families. Also for larger gatherings, a Baby Abalone Abundance Fortune Pot (S$488) boasts fresh scallops, sea cucumber, and prawns, among other delights from the sea. Gifting options are also available in the form of Golden Pineapple Ingots (S$38 for a box of 8) that reveal hand-grated pineapple jam baked in a buttery shell, as well as Four Treasure Mini Nian Gao (S$36), which come wrapped in a crispy pastry with flavours including traditional red sugar, Japanese pumpkin, red date, and Japanese purple sweet potato.

MICHELIN-Starred Shang Palace Offers Cantonese-themed Chinese New Year Delights, Including a Vegetarian Option


Praised by our MICHELIN Inspectors for serving an extensive menu dominated by old-time Cantonese classics that are hard to find elsewhere, the newly minted MICHELIN-starred restaurant offers a selection of delectable goodies and bountiful hampers to welcome auspicious beginnings.

Dine-in: From 17 January to 15 February 2022, guests of Shang Palace can opt for its Chinese New Year dim sum lunch or Chinese New Year set menus that range from S$108++ to S$168++ per person. À la carte offerings feature Shang Palace's signature barbecued meats and a range of Fortune Yu Sheng platters that come in varieties of poached lobster, Norwegian smoked salmon, vegetarian and fish, and abalone, with a choice of add-ons that include fish skin, crackers, and crispy enoki. For those who prefer a vegetarian option, the seven-course Joyous set menu is available for S$108++ per person. Dishes featured include Braised Bird’s Nest Soup, Deep-fried Bean Curd Puff, Braised Bamboo Fungus and Asparagus, and Five Grain Fried Rice.

Indulge in MICHELIN-Starred Summer Pavilion's Canadian Lobster and Black Caviar Yu Sheng


From 17 January through 15 February 2022, one-MICHELIN-starred Summer Pavilion at The Ritz-Carlton, Millennia Singapore, celebrates the bounty of spring and the prosperity brought in by the year of the tiger with a lavish Canadian Lobster and Black Caviar Yu Sheng that will be available for both dine-in and takeaway.

Dine-in: Apart from the featured Canadian Lobster and Black Caviar Yu Sheng, other exclusive Lunar New Year dishes from Summer Pavilion include Lobster Dumplings, Steamed Dong Xing Grouper Fillet, and Braised Fish Maw Soup with Bamboo Pith, Crab Meat, and Crab Roe. For groups of up to five diners opting to enjoy a feast inside the restaurant, six- to eight-course set lunch and dinner menus that are priced from S$128++ per person will also be offered.

Takeaway & Gifting: A selection of yu sheng platters and poon choi will be available for takeaway starting 17 January.

Experience Shunde-style Yu Sheng at Madame Fan


Known for its modern take on Cantonese dishes, MICHELIN-listed Madame Fan presents a selection of Chinese New Year specialties by its new head chef, Pak Chee Yit, which include a Shunde-style yu sheng, Lunar New Year set menus, and a luxurious take-away poon choi, which will all be available starting 10 January to 15 February 2022. For group reunions and celebrations, Madame Fan also holds six private dining rooms and a VIP dining room, with two seatings available per day.

Dine-in: Fronting Madame Fan's line-up of Chinese New Year dishes is the Blossom Shunde-style Yu Sheng (S$118++/S$188++), which is highlighted by its abundant amount of premium halibut sashimi, making it a delight for sashimi lovers. Alternatively, the Duo Prosperity Salmon and Bluefin Tuna Yu Sheng (S$98++/S$128++) is also available for diners who prefer a more vibrant mix of greens. Both yu sheng platters are served with a traditional plum dressing, balanced out with honey and lemon juice. 

Lunar New Year set menus are also being offered at Madame Fan (S$98++ per person for lunch and from S$148++ per person for dinner), where diners ranging from intimate groups of two, to bigger groups of five, can enjoy house signature specials such as Bridges Lobster & Hokkaido Scallop Soup with 20-year Gu Yue Long Shan Rice Wine Soup and Pan-fried Marble Goby Fish Fillet with Shaved Black Truffle. 

Takeaway & Gifting: Making its debut this year is the Trio of Happiness Poon Choi (S$368 nett/S$428 nett), which is available exclusively for takeaway and delivery. This communal-style festive casserole hot pot features abalone, spiky sea cucumber, Hokkaido scallop, fish maw, and tiger prawns and comes three distinctive flavours: Classic Abalone Sauce for the traditionalist, Spicy Szechuan Sauce for the adventurous, and an East-meets-West Truffle Sauce for the modern diner.

Man Fu Yuan Offers Prix-Fixe Menus (Including a Vegetarian Menu) and Takeaway Delicacies for the Lunar New Year


From 11 January to 15 February 2021, MICHELIN-listed Man Fu Yuan at InterContinental Singapore will offer Chinese delights steeped in auspiciousness to welcome the year of the tiger. Come for its Lunar New Year prix-fixe menus that are great for family or business lunches, or bring home some festive goodies to indulge in with loved ones.

Dine-in: Shaped in the Chinese idiom ‘五谷丰收', to symbolise prosperity and the abundant harvest of all food crops, Man Fu Yuan offers a 60-inch Garden of Abundance Yu Sheng that is complemented with baby abalone, lobster, sea urchin, scallops, salmon, crisp fish skin, and pomegranate sauce.

Auspiciously themed prix-fixe menus ranging from S$138++ to S$328++ per guest are also available featuring seasonal specials such as Double-boiled Giant Fish Broth with Bird’s Nest and Braised Lobster with Superior Crab Meat Egg White Sauce. Vegetarians can also avail of a menu priced at S$118++ per guest, with dishes making use of vegetarian meat and premium produce such as king tuber mushrooms.

Takeaway & Gifting: Man Fu Yuan takes pride in its Chinese New Year takeaway delights this year, highlighting a Tiger Vegetable Abundance Yu Sheng (from S$88), which comes packed with pork floss, salmon, crispy fish skin, pomegranate sauce, and shallot oil. Also offered for takeaway is the restaurant's signature Nourishing Steamboat Box (S$250), Roasted Suckling Pig with Glutinous Rice (S$488), and the Abundance Treasure Pot (S$498), which can also be ordered in the restaurant for dine-in. At MICHELIN-listed Yì By Jereme Leung, guests are invited to discover provincial Chinese dishes with an auspicious flair in the restaurant's seasonal Lunar New Year menu and takeaway treats available from 17 January to 15 February 2022.

Dine-in: To usher in the year of the tiger, Yì By Jereme Leung will prepare a special menu comprising dishes such as Steamed Spotted Garoupa & Fresh Lily Bulbs with "Mao Er Duo" Black Fungus, Steamed Jasmine Rice with Chinese Goose Liver Sausages & Preserved Meats, as well as Cantonese Sponge Cake infused with Dried Tangerine Peel. These dishes will be available in the restaurant's à la carte menu and in the Lunar New Year set menu, which is priced at S$168++ per person.

Take-away & Gifting: A staple in all Chinese New Year feasting tables in Singapore, yu sheng comes in four different iterations at Yì By Jereme Leung: Fortune Yu Sheng with Salmon Sashimi & Crispy Silver Bait Fish (S$168++), Longevity Yu Sheng with Arctic Shellfish & Japanese Sweet Shrimps (S$198++), Prosperity Yu Sheng with Tuna Sashimi, Spanish Ibérico Ham & Honey Melon (S$208++), and a Vegetarian Yu Sheng with Crispy Cordyceps Flower & Fresh Mango (S$168++). Each yu sheng platter is accompanied by a Yunnan rose dressing crafted by Leung himself.

For Delivery Only: The Coconut Club's Lemakase Feast Showcases Home-made Heritage Flavours

Rounding up the list is a feast delivered to one's doorstep. At Bib Gourmand-recommended The Coconut Club, home-cooked heritage dishes for parties of up to 4-6 (S$268) and 8-10 (S$388) will be exclusively available this Chinese New Year.

Cheekily called "Lemakase" as a nod to its Malaysian and Indonesian influences, a very special menu comprising of dishes not found in the restaurant such as Tauhu Bergedil (fried stuffed tofu) with Kicap Manis (sweet soy sauce), Ayam Tempra (a Malaysian Nyonya chicken dish cooked with aromatics and soy sauce), Sayur Lodeh (vegetables stewed in coconut milk), Gado Gado with peanut sauce, Pomfret Assam Pedas (sour and spicy fish stew), and Telur Sambal Ikan Bilis (egg sambal with fried fish).
