Man Fu Yuan has created four new tea-infused gems for its Snowskin Mooncake: Tea Collection ($74 for a box of four), inspired by the selection of premium tea blends at InterContinental Singapore’s award-winning Chinese restaurant.
At the heart of each snowskin mooncake is a flavoured chocolate truffle. Inside the smoky black sesame snowskin mooncake is a filling of nutty black sesame paste encasing a chocolate truffle scented with osmanthus flowers, while the cream-coloured Earl Grey With Strawberry Chocolate Truffle is redolent of citrusy bergamot and black tea.
Matcha-lovers will enjoy the Green Tea With White Chocolate truffle that is rich with a slightly-bitter taste that is characteristic of matcha. The orange gold snowskin cloaks a smooth filling of white lotus with a chocolate truffle centre perfumed with Mandarin orange peel tea.
The baked mooncakes are filled with your choice of red or white lotus paste and come in both single or double yolk options as well as one with assorted nuts — a crunchy, fragrant blend of almonds, walnuts, macadamia nuts and sesame seeds.
