For the first time, the MICHELIN Guide awards Two Stars to a Maltese restaurant

It might seem odd to associate a term from art history with a blood sausage, yet this poetic description is entirely fitting. Home-made cheeses, or perhaps we could even call them living room cheeses… Chances are you have never heard this term. Yet, like garage wines, this coinage accurately captures the essence of a unique category of Maltese cheeses insofar as the meticulous artisanal processes that give them their distinctive flavours and shapes take place in tiny living rooms. Alongside authentic farmhouse cheeses, they imbue Maltese artisanal cheesemaking with a distinct energy of its own.

A local product par excellence, Maltese honey represents the country’s history and culinary riches – and no mention can be made of Maltese cuisine without it being referenced.

The chef of Michelin-starred restaurant CTC served up his vision of Greek haute cuisine at a dinner organised by the MICHELIN Guide in Paris.
