Since the launch of the MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2021 in September of last year, our inspectors have been out and about in search for new addresses worthy of a place in the MICHELIN Guide selection.
While the MICHELIN Guide distinctions — Stars, Bib Gourmands, and Green Stars — will be revealed during the annual launch ceremony, our MICHELIN Guide inspectors have decided to share some fresh new restaurants that have caught their eyes (and tastebuds), making them new additions to the next MICHELIN Guide Singapore selection.
Every third Wednesday of the month, the new restaurants that will be part of the upcoming MICHELIN Guide Singapore will be featured in both the MICHELIN Guide Singapore website and the MICHELIN Guide mobile application.
How to spot the new restaurants? They will be highlighted with a "New" symbol. Some of these newly recommended establishments will go on to earn distinctions at the MICHELIN Star Revelation ceremony, so check them out and add them to your list of places to dine at!
Here are four of the MICHELIN inspectors' favourite new additions for April 2022 in Singapore!
Butcher's Block
#02-02 to #02-07, Raffles Arcade, 328 North Bridge Road, Singapore 188719Wood-fire cooking is the speciality of this dark and handsome restaurant within Raffles Hotel Singapore. Head straight to the "Tour de Force" multi-course menu if you want to experience a variety of top-quality fish and meat dishes, all expertly prepared using American wood and supplemented with Asian flavours. The moodily lit room ensures your gaze never wanders too far from the open kitchen. A restaurant to appeal to the hunter-gatherer in all of us. Book a stay at Raffles Hotel Singapore here.
Fool
21 Boon Tat Street, Singapore 069620This lively wine bar concept is another brainchild of the chef-owner behind Cloudstreet and Kotuwa. The décor is on trend with a retro 1970s look. The wine list is extensive and well-choreographed, with a slight bias towards older vintages. Pair your wine with snacks and small plates hallmarked by precise execution, beguiling presentations, and pronounced flavours. In particular, the chicken liver éclair with date and Madeira is not to be missed.
Revolver
56 Tras Street, Singapore 078995Its name is a pun on how cooking revolves around the charcoal grill, brazier, and tandoor. Whether you sit at the counter or in a booth, the chefs put on a show that is visible from all seats. Two tasting menus and a vegetarian menu are offered. Dishes are rooted in different regions of India, but are reimagined and reborn over coals and fire. The distinctive smoky flavour and layering of spices work magic, resulting in a delicate balance.
Wagyu Jin
1 Scotts Road, #02-12 Shaw Centre, Singapore 228208This intimate little gem serves multi-course omakase menus showcasing top-quality A5 Wagyu beef from different prefectures of Japan, prepared as sushi, sandwich, sukiyaki, and teppanyaki. In between beef courses, seafood ranging from uni and crab, to abalone and scampi, are served for a varied and interesting experience. There is also an à la carte add-on menu for you to personalise your meal with additional beef or fish.
