A Culinary Oasis at the Foot of the Andes
Located in the Central West of Argentina and framed by the majestic Andes Mountains, the Province of Mendoza is a natural wonder, transformed into a rural and urban oasis by the Huarpes, an indigenous people of Argentina, living in the Cuyo region until the 16th century. The proud ambassador of a living gastronomic scene, and one of the most acclaimed wine regions in the world for producing iconic Malbec, the Province of Mendoza boasts a unique terroir and authentic lifestyle steeped in a long-standing appreciation of gastronomy. After the announcement of the province hosting the next MICHELIN Guide Awards Ceremony for Buenos Aires and Mendoza, Alfredo Cornejo, Governor of Mendoza, shared a few words about the region's roots: “The province of Mendoza is recognized for its mountains, its wines and the warmth of its people. Working men and women, who knew how to turn a desert into fertile land and its cities into true oasis. Our identity, forged by contact with nature, has defined our gastronomy, which is recognized throughout the world for its quality and authentic flavors. We are proud to welcome the MICHELIN Guide and the best exponents of a sector that generates work, wealth and unforgettable experiences. Its presence in our land reinforces the Mendoza brand and consolidates us as a gastronomic pole, nationally and internationally.”
