If you're anything like us, then you probably haven't done much in terms of holiday prep either. That's where we can step in to lend a little guidance this Christmas season (when it comes to the food part, at least).
Here, five Michelin-recommended restaurants to hit up for an epic Christmas celebration:
"The décor resembles a chic library, with leather-bound tomes and vintage filing cabinets," inspectors state of this restaurant inside the EMC2 Hotel. The $95 per person holiday menu is available both Christmas Eve and Day, and includes a roasted beet, fig and endive salad, prime rib au jus, and a Bûche de Noël. An optional wine pairing is available for an addition $45 per guest.
On Christmas Eve, this Gold Coast restaurant will be hosting a Feast of the Seven Fishes dinner for $100 per person. Dishes include charred shrimp salad with avocado, pappardelle with red mullet and pistachio and salmon with olives, chiles and capers. The Christmas Day menu, at $80 per adult and $35 per child, includes butternut squash soup with candied pine nuts and black truffle oil; bone-in rib eye roast with garlic mashed potatoes, roasted broccoli and red wine sauce; and German chocolate cake with pecans and coconut-lime sorbetto.

Head here on Christmas Eve for brunch, lunch or dinner. During the day, the restaurant is offering a two-course meal with bottomless mimosas for $39 per person. Dinner features a $70 three-course menu with dishes like roasted rack of lamb with eggplant purée, ratatouille, preserved lemon, garlic and thyme sauce, and Maine diver scallops with saffron carrot purée, buttery savoy cabbage, duck prosciutto lardons and shallot red wine reduction. The restaurant is also offering a special $39 Hanukkah dinner menu December 22 through December 30.
This French restaurant inside the Waldorf Astoria will be open throughout the holiday season. On Christmas Day, it will be offering a three-course menu for $85 per person. On offer are dishes such as hand-ground steak tartare with potato gaufrette, salsa verte and egg yolk; duck breast à l'orange with Brussels sprouts, rosemary and baby turnips; and gingerbread sundae with amaretto ice cream, pizzelles and marshmallow cream. There's also a special holiday kids menu available for $19.
If you want someone else to do the cooking, but prefer to eat in the comfort of your own home, order one of the meal packages from this Logan Square stalwart. Designed to serve two, four or 10 people, the menu of remixed Chinese take-out favorites includes dishes like cool ranch wontons, mouth-numbing tofu and something they're calling General Foie's chicken. You have to pre-order your meals by Sunday, December 22 at 5pm.
