The long-awaited MICHELIN Guide Ceremony is set to take place on Wednesday, 13 December 2023. The seventh edition of the MICHELIN Guide in Thailand is expanding its coverage to include Bangkok, Phuket, Phang-Nga, Chiang Mai, Ayutthaya, Nakhon Ratchasima, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani, and Khon Kaen as representative cities of the Isan Region, as well as Ko Samui and the Surat Thani mainland as the latest additions.
The 2024 edition widens its scope to include Ko Samui, Thailand’s second-largest island after Phuket, which is a part of Surat Thani province; and the mainland of Surat Thani – the largest province in the southern region of Thailand. The extension of territory coverage will not only further showcase the distinctive culinary depth of Southern Thailand, in addition to Phuket and Phang-Nga, which have been featured in the MICHELIN Guide Thailand since its 2019 edition but also continue to celebrate Thailand’s rich and diverse gastronomic landscape.
In addition to the MICHELIN Guide Ceremony, the celebration will also reveal a range of special award recipients as well as MICHELIN Green Star recipients. The MICHELIN Green Star is given to one or more restaurants that outstandingly embody and embrace sustainability in its day-to-day operations, through such efforts including recycling, food waste reduction, or promotion of local and seasonal ingredient sourcing. Winners of these awards are selected based on research and data collected from the MICHELIN Guide inspectors’ fieldwork.
The complete listing in MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2024 will also be available on the official MICHELIN Guide website and on the MICHELIN Guide mobile app (iOS and Android), which enables you to find every restaurant and hotel in the world hand-selected by the MICHELIN Guide.
