Sühring Brothers Showcase a New Menu Inspired by Childhood Memories & Family Recipes

Throughout Thomas and Mathias Sühring's culinary path, they have worked with different cuisines and learned a lot from chefs across Europe. By opening Sühring in 2015, they were able to take a step back and look at their own roots and showcase German gastronomy inspired by their childhood memories and family recipes.

In the minds of most people German food is heavy  with Sauerkraut, Wursts and Schweinsaxen. After many years working for Chefs across Europe and Asia, Thomas and Mathias Sühring saw the chance to take on a project closer to their hearts - seasonal modern German cuisine that is truly exceptional.

"Throughout our culinary path, we have worked with different cuisines and learned a lot from chefs across Europe. By opening Sühring in 2015, we take a step back to our own roots and showcase German gastronomy inspired by our childhood’s memories and family recipes," Said Thomas Sühring

"In the mind of most people, German food is mostly considered as a heavy cuisine with Sauerkraut, Wursts and Schweinsaxen.

"We wanted to give a different experience to those by highlighting dishes that are known in different regions of Germany but not to the international scene such as the 'Bismarckhering' commonly eaten in Berlin,  'Leipziger Allerlei' from Leipzig or 'Zwiebelrostbraten' from the south of Germany,"Said Chef & Owner Restaurant Sühring, Thomas Sühring.

The new tasting Menu at Restaurant Sühring comes in two different options.

- The Sühring Klassikier - Selection of past and present classics (3,400++ THB)
- The Sühring Erlebnis - Chefs' evolving creations and latest inspirations (4,400 ++THB)

Both menus take diners on an modern German culinary journey from the first bite to last. The menus reflects the chefs' philosophy of quality, seasonality and simplicity. The creations change continuously according to the season and the ingredients passing through the kitchen.

The Sühring Klassikier and the Sühring Erlebnis menus are dived into three chapters:
Chapter 1 - Little Snacks for Sharing
Chapter 2 - Cold & Hot Savoury Dishes
Chapter 3 - Sweets

Dining here is a homely affair as it's located in a restored townhouse in a quiet neighbourhood. Brothers Mathias and Thomas Sühring deliver their very own style of modern German cooking that is sometimes playful, sometimes classic and always prepared with care. A la carte menus are available, but it would be a shame to shy away from the 8 and 12-course menus. The knowledgeable sommelier is in charge of an outstanding list of German and Alsatian wine.
