Gwendal Poullennec Appointed International Director of The MICHELIN Guides

Mr. Poullennec will manage all 32 editions of the prestigious red guide.

Today, Gwendal Poullennec begins his role as the International Director of the MICHELIN Guides, replacing his predecessor, Michael Ellis.

After graduating from the ESSEC Business School in Cergy, France, Mr. Poullennec joined Michelin in 2003. He has spent the last 12 years in charge of the international deployment of the MICHELIN Guides in both the United States and Asia. He also initiated the guide launches in New York City, San Francisco, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Kyoto as well as the recent launches of Bangkok and Taipei.

In 2014, he was appointed to Secretary General of the MICHELIN Guide, and headed up new digital interfaces for the group.

With 15 years of experience in the wide world of gastronomy, Mr. Poullennec will continue to embody Michelin’s core values of generosity, passion and independence, while leading the global team of Michelin inspectors and managing the 32 editions of the prestigious red guide.
