Chefs from MICHELIN Restaurants Collaborate Live on Gaggenau’s Expressive Series

The brand showcased its newest collection during Design Miami with a special MICHELIN-Starred collaboration.

In a world of disposable design, true luxury is timeless, rare and built to be remembered. Gaggenau, known for its luxury, high-performance kitchen appliances such as its ovens and cooling systems, continues to be celebrated for its timeless craftsmanship and design.

This year, the brand unveiled its Expressive Series — a collection that was developed for more than two decades. Conceived in Germany and hand-finished in France, the new appliances are built to last, bringing the high quality equipment used by chefs from MICHELIN-Starred restaurants into home kitchens, reflecting the company’s "Professional Kitchen Principle."

From December 3 to 6, the Expressive Series made its public cooking debut in the United States at Design Miami, where guests had the experience of witnessing the new collection in action.

Central to the experience was a special collaboration between two acclaimed chefs: Paco Morales of Noor (Three MICHELIN Stars) and Juan Manuel Barrientos of Elcielo (two locations, each with One MICHELIN Star). Working side by side, the iconic chefs curated a bespoke menu of bites prepared using the remarkable Expressive Series appliances, offered exclusively to a select group of industry leaders, creatives and other attendees.

Chef Paco Morales of Noor

Spanish Chef Paco Morales is the visionary behind the Three-MICHELIN-Star Noor in Córdoba, Spain. Meaning “light” in Arabic, Noor is so much more than a fine-dining restaurant. Chef Morales revives the spirit of Andalusian cuisine using modern ideas and techniques, bringing to the fore the essence of the cultured and magical city of Córdoba.

Chef Juan Manuel Barrientos of Elcielo

Colombian-born Chef Juan Manuel “Juanma” Barrientos' culinary artistry has garnered international fame. Two locations of Elcielo (Miami and Washington, D.C.) have earned One MICHELIN Star. His cooking is deeply personal, using Colombian ingredients in dishes that share history and purpose with an admirable level of showmanship.

Enjoying remarkable bites and a Latin soundtrack playing from a Burmester Audiosysteme soundscape, guests were able to savor the full experience. They then had the pleasure of learning about timeless design and the philosophy behind the collection from Gaggenau’s global leadership team, including Dr. Peter Goetz (Managing Director) and Sven Baacke (Head of Design).

For the first time, Gaggenau unveiled an immersive installation that positioned the 30” Expressive Series oven as a sculptural work of art. In collaboration with architectural design firm 1zu33, the piece translated Design Miami’s theme, Make. Believe., into physical form.

The Make embodied the oven as a meticulously crafted tool, which was sculpted by hand and engineered for performance with “seductive functionality.” The Believe reimagined the same appliance as an ethereal vision suspended in imagination with “emotional power.”

Together, the installation revealed Gaggenau’s dual identity: appliances that deliver uncompromising results while elevating the visual language of the modern kitchen. They are truly performance appliances that intend to inspire joy.
