MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2019 Bib Gourmands

Fifty-eight Bib Gourmand restaurants and street food establishments are listed in the MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2019—12 of which are new entrants.

MICHELIN is pleased to unveil the selection of restaurants and street food establishments awarded with a Bib Gourmand in the MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2019. This year, 58 establishments of the city-state are being recognized with the distinction.

The Bib Gourmand category was created in 1997 and granted by MICHELIN’s inspectors to the addresses that offer diners very good value for money, with a complete and high quality menu priced at a maximum of SG$45. The 12 new Bib Gourmands in this selection reflect the ongoing development of Singapore’s gastronomy.

In a country where street food is an institution, it’s not surprising to find numerous Hawker stalls (33 are awarded with a Bib Gourmand) and street food establishments (six) in this selection. These open-air stalls serve a variety of inexpensive food that highlight the heritage of a unique culinary tradition and offer a traditional food experience with a variety of tasty flavors. Spicy curries, seafood soups, roast meats and offal dishes are some favorites found in these places.

Nineteen restaurants, two more than last year, also receive the Bib Gourmand distinction. Serving food inspired by Indian, Malay or Chinese influences, these eateries showcase the diversity of Singapore’s cuisine as a crossroads of flavors.
