Today, Maastricht welcomed the crème de la crème of the Dutch culinary world. For another year, the new MICHELIN Guide selection was unveiled at the MECC in Maastricht. Two restaurants were awarded Two MICHELIN Stars and five establishments received their first Star. Two restaurants also saw their inspiring vision newly spotlighted by joining the MICHELIN Green Star Community. The new Netherlands selection includes 501 restaurants.
“This new edition is the result of rigorous and passionate fieldwork by our Inspectors. It highlights a Dutch gastronomic scene that is dynamic, ambitious and constantly evolving,” said Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of The MICHELIN Guide.
“From renowned institutions to bold newcomers, Dutch chefs continue to surprise with their creativity, technical precision and strong culinary identity. Talents like Soenil Bahadoer and Guido Braeken, honored with Two MICHELIN Stars, brilliantly illustrate why the Netherlands is now one of the most captivating gastronomic scenes in Europe.”

De Librije retains its Three MICHELIN Stars
The unexpected passing of Jonnie Boer deeply affected the Dutch culinary world. Our inspection team, also moved, pays tribute to the journey of this charismatic artisan who greatly shaped the country’s gastronomy. Today, the Boer family and Chef Nelson Tanate continue his legacy with dedication and passion, preserving a heritage of excellence. At De Librije, gourmets can still enjoy a personal homage to the Dutch terroir that is both charming and creative. It is a truly complete experience worth the journey. De Librije therefore retains its Three MICHELIN Stars this year.
The Netherlands now has two additional restaurants awarded Two MICHELIN Stars
Among the newcomers with Two Stars are two familiar faces. Blending Surinamese and Hindustani roots with a French foundation, Soenil Bahadoer has developed a highly personal style over the years at De Lindehof. He now continues his exceptional story at GEM. by Soenil Bahadoer in Gemert, a stunning castle where the popular chef can further deepen his vision. He showcases premium ingredients such as European lobster and vegetables from his own garden in an exotic whirlwind of intense flavors.
Guido Braeken is also no stranger to the culinary top table. The chef had already impressed at Julemont and has now found a home at the luxury hotel Van Oys in Eijsden. At Create by Guido Braeken, he remains true to himself, meticulous, relying on astonishingly high-quality ingredients, classic finesse and an exotic flair. This master saucier brings every plate to life. Create is the kind of place where every detail is perfect. Exceptional cuisine worth the journey!
The MICHELIN Guide Netherlands 2025 now includes 20 restaurants with Two MICHELIN Stars.

Five restaurants receive their first MICHELIN Star
Amsterdam welcomes two new Stars in the 2025 edition of The MICHELIN Guide Netherlands. At CUE, George Kataras, previously recognized for Vanderveen, once again impresses the inspection team. His lively and refined cuisine skillfully plays with smoky touches and well-balanced accents.
At Choux, the inventive seasonal approach stands out as a signature. Merijn van Berlo and his team offer deeply personal cuisine: tangy, original and always memorable.
In Delft, Daniel Duijster Gomero delights with elegantly plated dishes at Novaela. His refined cuisine, subtly inspired by Peruvian flavors, captivates with its precision and intensity.
In Nootdorp, the former Bib Gourmand Restaurant Calva takes a step forward. Thoughtful creations, classic expertise and attention to detail convinced the inspection team, as did the superb food and wine pairings.
Finally, in Aalten, a beautiful family story continues at Olde Marckt. Bram Stoverink has returned to his parents’ restaurant, where he enriches the house classics — game, eel — with more elaborate compositions inspired by world cuisines. In the dining room, his father Albert ensures attentive service, accompanied by excellent food and wine pairings.
The MICHELIN Guide Netherlands 2025 features a total of 98 Starred restaurants.

MICHELIN Special Awards Winners
Through its Special Awards, The MICHELIN Guide celebrates professionals who use their talent to create unforgettable dining experiences.

Wet and Michelle Van de Bunt, from restaurant De Leuf in Ubachsberg, are the recipients of this year’s Service Award. MICHELIN Sommelier Award
At restaurant WY. in Maastricht, Ylja Berends has been named our Sommelier Award winner. Her ability to identify the key notes of a dish and enhance them with the perfect wine pairing is truly impressive. A talented sommelier, she demonstrates how a glass can elevate a plate.

MICHELIN Mentor Chef Award
For over two decades, Jonnie Boer was awarded Three MICHELIN Stars for his restaurant De Librije — recognition rooted in his deep connection to the Dutch terroir, his creativity and his mastery of flavor. A generous chef, he eagerly shared his knowledge and passion with his team. Through his talent and personality, he shaped a generation of chefs and continues to inspire to this day. With deep respect, we posthumously present him with the MICHELIN Mentor Chef Award.

Green Star: Two New Restaurants Highlighted for Their Inspiring Visions
The MICHELIN Green Star editorially highlights restaurants that, among the MICHELIN Guide selection, have inspired and impressed Inspectors with their committed vision for the future of gastronomy. By shaping a community of innovative establishments driven to pursue progress in the role of restaurants, the MICHELIN Green Star fosters dialogue and collaboration, encouraging establishments to inspire and evolve together.
Two restaurants have newly captured the Inspectors’ attention for their inspiring visions: Konijnenvoer in Arnhem and Tres in Rotterdam. At Konijnenvoer, Chef Demian Parasmo promotes alternative food habits by offering plant-based menus crafted from the finest local and seasonal produce, skillfully transformed using sophisticated techniques. At Tres, Chef Michale van der Kroft pushes the boundaries of the nose-to-tail concept, employing modern techniques and experiments developed in his fermentation lab to maximize every ingredient and dramatically reduce food waste.
These two newly highlighted restaurants join the 21 establishments already recognized for continuing to impress the Inspectors. Together, they form a community deeply committed to presenting another vision of gastronomy.
9 New Restaurants Awarded a Bib Gourmand
Recognizing restaurants that offer great food at reasonable prices — that’s the mission of the Bib Gourmand distinction. There are no strict rules on concept or cuisine style: What matters is delicious food served with a philosophy of accessibility and value. This year, nine new restaurants have earned a Bib Gourmand.
From the French cuisine at Café Sjiek in Maastricht to the inventive Turkish dishes at NEV in Eindhoven, the authentic Thai plates of Reua Thai in Nuth to the refreshing reinterpretation of familiar flavors at Petite in Sint-Oedenrode — the new awardees stand out for their diversity and generosity.
