Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking
Many stylish Middle Eastern restaurants have opened in recent years, but few have come close to putting a dent in the crowds that rush to Miss Ada nightly. This Fort Greene charmer features a cozy dining room, a darling backyard patio and garden, and a keen menu packed with dips, meats, and veggies. Whipped ricotta with brown butter, sage, and honey is a sweet staple, as is the fantastic hummus topped with tender lamb shawarma. Sharing is the name of the game here, from the vibrant market salads to charred skewers like kofta with pine nut, short rib with cabbage, and halloumi with green tahini. All of it arrives properly seasoned and spiced from a shockingly small kitchen. Though reservations are scarce, walk-ins can find refuge at the bar.

Behind the Bib: Miss Ada (Video)
The name is actually a play on the word “misada,” or “restaurant” in Hebrew.
