Casa Neos: A Mediterranean Journey Begins in Miami

Chef Michaël Michaelidis Debuts His New Culinary Venture Along the Miami River.

In June, Miami welcomed Casa Neos, the newest culinary creation from Chef Michaël Michaelidis, a chef whose experience boasts 26 Michelin stars. This two-story restaurant promises an immersive "journey of the Mediterranean," drawing inspiration from the Aegean Islands and aiming to transport guests to European summers.

Casa Neos is the latest addition to the Riviera Dining Group's esteemed portfolio, which includes the MICHELIN-rated Mila in South Beach and Ava in Winter Park. Chef Michael Michaelidis spoke about the restaurant's concept and inspiration, saying, "Riviera Dining Group is always looking to stay at the forefront of innovation, and we are honored to be a part of this new chapter in Miami’s culinary scene. Casa Neos is born from authenticity, blending fresh ingredients and rich, aromatic notes, promising a fully immersive experience for all the senses."

The restaurant’s design and atmosphere play a significant role in this immersive experience. "Casa Neos transcends through the first and second floors, where global flavors meet modern Mediterranean cuisine," Michaelidis explains. "The two-story restaurant marries architectural beauty and culinary artistry through refined aesthetics, lavish comfort, and natural elements, seamlessly transitioning serene days into magical evenings."

The decor is a celebration of Mediterranean cultures, with stone and stucco walls, natural fabrics, and hand-painted ceramics. "Every element of Casa Neos has been meticulously crafted to celebrate the beauty and charm of these faraway lands, inviting exploration and enchantment," Michaelidis says.

The menu at Casa Neos reflects the rich culinary traditions of the Mediterranean region. "Each dish is crafted with the finest ingredients, celebrating the rich culinary traditions of Mediterranean countries," Michaelidis says. "From the fresh seafood reminiscent of Greek shores to the aromatic spices of Morocco and the sun-kissed produce of Italy, our menu is a mosaic of authentic tastes."

Signature dishes include the branzino, grilled and seasoned with fresh herbs and citrus, and the Australian rack of lamb, marinated in a blend of Mediterranean spices. "Our Mediterranean octopus salad captures the true spirit of coastal dining," Michaelidis notes, "and the whole seabream, simply prepared to let its natural flavors shine, is a testament to our commitment to using the freshest ingredients and traditional cooking techniques."

The chef's extensive experience and Mediterranean roots heavily influence the cuisine at Casa Neos. "Growing up in Piraeus, Athens, my childhood was spent by the sea, catching octopus and enjoying fresh seafood," Michaelidis shares. "These early experiences instilled in me a profound love for fresh, authentic flavors, which I strive to recreate and elevate at Casa Neos."

In addition to its culinary offerings, Casa Neos will feature an expert mixology program and an extensive wine list curated by an in-house sommelier. The restaurant aims to be more than just a dining destination; it seeks to become a beloved part of the local Miami community. "We see Casa Neos playing a pivotal role in presenting a unique Mediterranean dining experience that blends tradition with innovation," Michaelidis says.
