This charming and trendy restaurant is located in the heart of Vienna's vibrant Spittelberg neighbourhood, known for its bars, restaurants and shops. The centrepiece is the large counter and open kitchen, where unfussy seasonal dishes are prepared. The ingredients are exclusively Austrian, mostly organic goods sourced from trusted suppliers. The house speciality is game, which the chefs also hunt themselves. Dishes include venison carpaccio with pickled celeriac and celeriac mayonnaise, and game schnitzel with potato salad and lemon. The exceptionally friendly and attentive team serves either a five-course tasting menu or individual dishes à la carte. During summer, the rain-protected pergola, with its open front of windows, provides a terrace-like setting. N.B. Parking in the immediate vicinity is difficult, but the nearest underground station, Volkstheater, is only a few minutes' walk away.
