MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

Feel like you’re searching for a place that you can’t find? Reverie is indeed hidden—tucked off a quiet, cobblestone alley in Georgetown. Inside, its slate floors, smooth wood, and clean lines speak to a contemporary Nordic vibe. Nab a seat at the chef’s counter and you’ll be privy to the preparation of each dish from start to finish. Like the design, inspiration for its dishes skews North Atlantic.
Chef Johnny Spero did time at Noma and from dense rye loaves served alongside cultured butter with black walnut miso, the references are evident. Whole roasted duck and the burger are attention worthy, but the true showstopper may just be those rosy slices of squab breast sitting pretty in a rye porridge enriched with preserved wild blueberries and savory jus.
