57 Bib Gourmand addresses, offering quality food at reasonable prices, are listed in the MICHELIN Guide Seoul 2023. From everyday dishes such as cold noodles and dumplings, to European specialises, here's a list that captures a taste of Seoul.

The MICHELIN Guide Seoul has announced the Bib Gourmand selection for 2023. The Bib Gourmand distinction is given to restaurants that offer quality food at a reasonable price. In Seoul, a Bib Gourmand recognition is given to eateries and restaurants that offer dishes at an average price of less than 45,000KRW or around US$38. A total of 57 addresses were listed with a Bib Gourmand in Seoul this year, and among these, 3 are newly recognized, showing the diverse gourmet scene of Seoul.

This year's Bib Gourmand selection highlights 3 newly recognised restaurants. Among them, Filletter serves a variety of seafood dishes prepared with various recipes. Jeongmyeon offers flavorful rice noodles made with seafood, pork, and chicken broth. And One Degree North offers a variety of Asian menus using Cantonese barbecue and Singaporean chicken rice.

The MICHELIN Guide Seoul has been releasing "Live Update" lists of newly added restaurants every month since June 2022, with a total of 16 restaurants this year. And with these 3 newly recognised Bib Gourmand restaurants being included in the live updates, there has been an increased interest in them already.

Similar to last year's selection, a variety of noodle dishes such as udon, naengmyeon (cold noodles), pasta, and buckwheat noodles take up to 40% of the Bib Gourmand selection. This only proves that the Koreans' love for noodles has not changed. Another noteworthy fact is that a lot of this year's Bib Gourmand addresses also offer soup-based menus, validating the integral role of soup in Korean food culture.

Seoul has changed over the past decade. In particular, the restaurant industry is full of diversity due to the young generation's interest in the culinary scene; a lot of enthusiastic young chefs are taking the stage. And with the MICHELIN Guide Seoul, the city has been recognized as a global gourmet city. The Bib Gourmand selection embraces the tastes of many people and generations who want to enjoy affordable yet delicious food. We hope the expanded Bib Gourmand selection encourages food lovers to share the pleasure of gourmet treasures that are unique to Seoul.
