MICHELIN Guide Nordic Countries 2018 Selection

This year's guide includes a total of 64 starred restaurants.

The results for this year's guide covering Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland were recently announced at a special event at Copenhagen City Hall. The Nordic guide now has a total of 268 Michelin-recommended restaurants across the region.

There are a total of 64 starred restaurants this year. Of particular note is Sweden's first three-starred restaurant, Frantzén in Stockholm. "Björn Frantzén has created a unique vision of Nordic cuisine, combining sublime ingredients with astounding culinary techniques," states Michael Ellis, International Director of the MICHELIN guides. "Björn Frantzén's gastronomic expression is truly worth the journey, and is a gustatory experience like no other."


The 2018 guide also include two new two-starred restaurants. Per the press release: "Daniel Berlin in Skåne Tranås, Sweden, where Chef Daniel Berlin makes wonderful use of local ingredients, with the emphasis on balance, purity and precision, and Kadeau in Copenhagen, Denmark. In this restaurant, the passion of the team, which is like a family, comes through in the cooking which is defined by finesse and intricacy."


Seven one-starred restaurants were also added in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Norway.


Additionally, 37 establishment received the Bib Gourmand designation, which highlights restaurants that offer good quality cooking at an attractive price.
