Michelin releases 2016 Brazil guidebook

As with last year's inaugural edition, there is still no three starred restaurant in Brazil.

Welcome news for those headed south for the Summer Olympics in August this year, the Michelin Guide has just released the 2016 edition of its Brazil Guidebook.
There are four new one-star restaurants in this year’s guide: Eleven Rio in Rio de Janeiro; and in Sao Paolo, Kan Suke, a Japanese restaurant in a shopping mall; Brazilian restaurant Esquina Mocoto, and  Tête á Tête, a restaurant just under a year old.
Like the guidebook’s inaugural edition last year, the second edition focuses on the cities of Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro, the latter the host city for the Games. The third star continues to elude restaurants in Brazil, with Alex Atala’s D.O.M. leading the pack as the only two-star restaurant in the guide.
The guide also features Michelin's Bib Gourmand selections and hotel recommendations, with a total of 160 restaurants and 44 hotels across the two Brazilian cities listed.
