If you've ever watched the highly enjoyable, visually engaging Netflix series Emily in Paris then you're no doubt familiar with the show's resident chef, Gabriel, played by actor Lucas Bravo. After seasons of toiling for others, the ingenue ends the show's third season opening his own restaurant with the goal of earning a MICHELIN Star.
It's a lofty goal for anyone, but behind the scenes actor Lucas Bravo benefited from some help from Chef Thibaut Spiwack, from the One MICHELIN Star and Green Star restaurant Anona. Acting as the show's culinary consultant, Spiwack was the man behind the plates at L'Espirit de Gigi (Gabriel's restaurant), which serves Normandy cuisine.
So after three seasons playing a chef, did Bravo pick up anything from Spiwack? Below, we test Bravo's tastebuds in a blind taste test of Spiwack's signature dishes. From a refined take on an onion tart to a sinfully delectable chocolate and peanut dessert, Bravo tries to decode the dishes. Watch to the end as Emily in Paris fans might spot a familiar, floral-focused creation.
