This picture-postcard clapboard house's name means ‘mantel and chimney’ – and, fittingly, a green-tiled fireplace and mantel take centre stage in a room furnished with bright, bold designs. Flavoursome dishes take on an eclectic mix of styles, from truffle risotto arancini with smoked duck and butternut squash for starters to a blend of coconut, cherry, white chocolate and almond to finish. The well-chosen wines have an organic and biodynamic bias, and service is endearing.
