MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

You won’t wander by this Italian standout or pop in on a whim, since this Fashion District restaurant is a bit of a trek. There’s not much else in this area, but that’s just fine because if you’ve made the trip to Rossoblu, you won’t be disappointed. The setting—a capacious and glamorous industrial warehouse—may look and feel cutting edge, but there’s nothing avant-garde about the food (thank goodness).

The cuisine pays tribute to quality ingredients with simple but well-executed cooking. Make no mistake, this isn’t Mamma’s Sunday pasta, but the kitchen excels in regional styles, including eggplant folded over a tomato sugo and olive oil, as well as tagliolini tossed with cuttlefish and English peas for a lovely ode to Emilia-Romagna.
