MJP refers to Chef Mark Poynton, while The Shepherds is a historic village pub that now provides a platform for the former's cooking. Housed inside a 16th-century building, it's a cosy, intimate space with a rustic touch to the décor. Mark and his brigade offer dishes that shine at their simplest, like quality sirloin served with a glossy jus and creamed potatoes. Choose between a tasting menu and an à la carte, where the dishes are available in small or large portions. Modern bedrooms are simply furnished.
