MICHELIN Guide Inspectors spend all year on the road uncovering the best restaurants to recommend and reveal some of their latest favorite additions monthly ahead of the annual launch event.
Restaurants in Taipei, Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung will be added to the selection monthly, on the second Wednesday of every month. The newly selected venues will feature on both the website and the app. There’s a special entry “New” created for those newly-listed restaurants and those restaurants will be highlighted with a ‘New’ symbol, for easy identification.
Some of these newly recommended establishments might go on to earn distinctions at the MICHELIN Star Revelation ceremony, so follow the monthly releases closely and watch this space!

The room with bare concrete, exposed bricks and reclaimed furniture adjoins a terrace generously adorned by potted plants. Having spent 20 years with Western cuisine, the chef revisits his roots and tells captivating culinary stories with refined vegan neo-Hakkanese cooking. All ingredients are sourced from Miaoli County where he hails from. The dish ‘Rebirth’, for example, is smoked cabbage wrap with a mashed potato and salted mustard greens filling.
Hou Chi Duck Rice
KaohsiungFor over 40 years, Hou Chi has been attracting a loyal following with its tasty duck dishes. Its famously nourishing dang gui duck soup exudes deep herbal aromas; order it with noodles to make a complete meal. The signature duck rice comes with thickly sliced duck and pickled radish. Order an extra platter of smoked or braised duck if you fancy more protein. You can even specify which cuts you prefer.
