Operations such as London's St. John are the inspiration for the kitchen, with dishes like beef brisket pie and mash providing suitably gutsy flavours and hearty generosity. They even serve a traditional roast dinner on Sundays! French influences come into play as well, as with the madeleines for dessert. Friendly service creates a lovely, welcoming atmosphere.
