2017 Michelin Guide France Released

Chef Yannick Alléno’s Le 1947 now joins 26 other restaurants in France that already hold three Michelin stars.

The Michelin Guide France 2017 has been released, unveiling one new three-Michelin-starred restaurant, 12 new two-starred restaurants and 57 new one-starred restaurants (see full list below).

Chef Yannick Alléno’s alpine outpost Le 1947 now joins 26 other existing restaurants that already hold the top accolade – a list that includes his Paris restaurant Alléno Paris au Pavillon Ledoyen as well as Alain Passard’s Arpège and Alain Ducasse at the Plaza Athénée Hotel. Breaking into the upper echelons of French dining is no easy feat as the restaurant has to showcase exceptional cuisine and that it's worth a special journey.

Other movers and shakers include Alexandre Gauthier’s La Grenouillere which now has two stars, Gordon Ramsay’s Le Pressoir d’Argent in Bordeux and Restaurant Kei in Paris.

In total, 70 new stars were awarded which brings the total number of Michelin-starred restaurants in the home of the red guide to 616 – 16 more than last year.

This announcement follows last week’s release of the Bib Gourmand list which sees 17 new wallet-friendly and casual eateries in Paris alone.
