Thanksgiving day will be here before we know it. Though many spend hours (or sometimes days) preparing for the annual feast at home, others opt to take the less arduous route by making a reservation instead. For those of you looking to have someone else do the heavy lifting, here are five Michelin-recommended restaurants to consider for celebrating the holiday in San Francisco.
Ken Frank's Michelin-starred contemporary restaurant is offering a Thanksgiving feat for $85 per person. Dishes include warm fingerling potato and wild mushroom salad with Burgundy truffle; grilled swordfish with fermented black bean, purple daikon and shiitake; and speculoos profiteroles with Wild Turkey caramel and candied pecans. Wine pairings are available for an addition $45 charge.
Those who like it hot should head to this Bib Gourmand-designated restaurant for Sichuan dishes. The Chinatown smash hit is serving its regular menu on Thanksgiving. According to inspectors, "Nearly every dish is crowned with chiles, from the huge mound of dried peppers that rests atop tender, garlicky bites of fried chicken to the flaming chile oil anointing tender, flaky fish fillets in a star anise-tinged broth with Sichuan peppercorns aplenty."
For those that aren't really into turkey and stuffing, head to Omakase for Edomae sushi. The Michelin-starred restaurant is open on Thanksgiving and offering its usual two tasting menus for either $150 or $200 per person. As always, inspectors share that "reservations are required and punctuality is a must."
Ad Hoc is "By far the most casual of Thomas Keller’s three Yountville restaurants," according to inspectors. So guests looking for a more laid back location to celebrate the holiday can head here for a menu featuring turkey and all the fixin's for $67 a person. Those looking to been up their meal can add on wagyu short rib with mushrooms, yams and red wine butter for an addition $46.
"With its sleek booths, wall-to-wall windows, plush carpeting and pristinely robed tables, this elegant oasis in the Taj Hotel is as formal and traditional as one would expect," state inspectors. This Michelin-starred Indian restaurant is switching things up a bit and serving a more traditional Thanksgiving feast for the holiday. Campton Place is offering a five-course prix fixe menu for $170 per person all day starting at 11:30 a.m.
