1.HOTEL POSEIDON — Positano, Italy
Originally constructed as a private villa, the Hotel Poseidon opened its doors to the public in 1950, and is still going strong as a member of Positano’s small-but-elite fraternity of classic luxury hotels..

2.CHÂTEAU & VILLAGE CASTIGNO — Assignan, France
Château & Village Castigno is “distributed” hotel — it’s spread throughout the village, in houses and buildings that are color-coded to set them apart from this living village’s remaining private dwellings.

3. CRISTINE BEDFOR — Minorca, Spain
Cristine Bedfor is named for a fictional character dreamt up by hotelier Cristina Lonzano. It’s a multi-layered concept, a local’s vision of a British traveler’s idea of a perfectly hospitable Menorcan residence.
