Robert Parker Wine Advocate Presents First Ever Local Michelin Chef Showcase

Experience exclusive menus paired with top rated wines in this four part series.

The announcement of the tie up between Robert Parker Wine Advocate and Michelin in Hong Kong and Macau is not the only big piece of news we have this week. Later this September, the partnership will see the launch of the first dinner of a four-part Local Michelin Chef Showcase where talented chefs of Singapore’s newly crowned Michelin star restaurants will present exclusive menus along with the best wines.

The first of the series will take place on 30th September and will see corporate executive chef Manjunath Mural of one-Michelin-starred restaurant The Song of India serving up Indian royal cuisine on 30th September. Other chefs in the pipeline include Haikal Johari from Alma by Juan Amador, Malcolm Lee from Candlenut as well as Kirk Westaway from Jaan. All three are one-Michelin-star restaurants.

Disparate as their cooking styles may seem, a theme unites them all. The series aims to take diners across time and space to experience the life and culinary influences of these chefs. These dishes will be a one-time affair and not otherwise found in the usual restaurant menus.

Here’s a taste: The Song of India dinner will be a gastronomic journey across India’s historical palaces, Alma by Juan Amador’s night will showcase chef Haikal Johari’s pan Southeast Asia culinary influences, chef Malcolm Lee will present Straits Chinese cuisine from around the region and chef Kirk Westaway will reinterpret British classics from his childhood.

To top it off, an excellent wine list rated by the esteemed critics of Robert Parker Wine Advocate has been put together to accompany each menu. Nothing less than wines rated RP90 and above will be showcased promising evenings where good food and good wine come together for an exclusive experience.
