Some 1,800 hungry diners descended upon The Coliseum at Resorts World Sentosa for the first ever MICHELIN Guide Street Food Festival held on 14 and 15 April 2017 where Michelin star and Bib Gourmand recipients dished out the best of what Singapore had to offer.
Space was limited and the event was hailed as a success with the public snapping up all available tickets within the first 48 hours of it going on sale.
As popular as it was, putting together the festival was no easy feat. “We took almost six months to plan this event,” says Michelle Ling, program director at Robert Parker Wine Advocate.
“It’s not easy bringing in the hawkers because it’s the first time they’re doing such a big event,” she adds. “Most of the time they’re in their stall where they have everything they need – to bring them to a new place takes a fair bit of encouragement and convincing.”

Upon entry, guests will be greeted by a red gate meant to resemble a shophouse. Once the coupons and wristbands are collected, guests can enter where a world of culinary delights await.
Chef Manjunath Mural of one-Michelin-starred The Song of India served up Indian street food snacks like samosas stuffed with spiced garbanzo.

Le Pain de Joël Robuchon which serves up five different types of bite-sized breads was one of the most popular stalls that evening. It's the perfect way for guests to sample pastry chef Antonio Benites' food without having to dine at the two-Michelin-starred L'atelier de Joël Robuchon or the three starred Joël Robuchon.

As guests tucked into the dishes, Mixed Trio was playing up on stage serenading the crowd with their tunes.

Those who love their teas can check out Newby Teas' stand where both warm and iced teas were available to savour.

At the end of the day, everyone from chefs to hawkers as well as guests were all smiles as it was two very special evenings where both makers and foodies get together in a celebration of culinary excellence.
