Located on Magazine Street in the Garden District, The Kingsway has a chic dark blue exterior on a prime corner position. Inside, the room is bright and fresh with light wood plank flooring, cream walls, linen-draped tables and a white stone counter near the display kitchen in back.
Chef Ashwin Vilkhu’s menu reflects his childhood in New Delhi along with influences from Singapore. The bar program features an interesting array of expertly crafted cocktails, flavored with elements such as Thai tea, lychee, black sesame and Asian pear cordial. Meanwhile, the creative four-course prix-fixe includes everything from a dish that evokes the pleasure of eating leftover noodles cold from the fridge to steamed snapper in a delicate dashi broth.
