Banzeiro is a breath of fresh air on Sao Paulo’s culinary scene. Chef Felipe Schaedler made the leap to this Brazilian metropolis from Manaus, where he has two other restaurants, in order to popularise the flavours and cooking of the Amazon. In this vibrantly decorated space, discover dishes—many cooked on the grill—that are contemporary, delicate and highly visual. Make sure to try river fish, such as pirarucú and tambaquià, as well as the highly unusual saúva ant with a mandioquinha foam. (Last update: September 2020).
