Thailand's Three Key Stays

Only six properties in Thailand have earned the prestigious Three-MICHELIN-Key distinction — the highest honor for hotels in The MICHELIN Guide. Among them, three exemplify the country’s world-renowned seaside hospitality. But these elite escapes aren’t clustered on one postcard-perfect coast. From the shores of Phuket to Krabi and Ko Samui, Amanpuri, Phulay Bay, and Samujana Villas showcase the stunning breadth of Thailand’s coastal beauty — spanning two seas and thousands of miles of shoreline.

Beyond those spectacular oceanside suites and villas, three more Three -Key hotels shine. In the north, the Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai is nestled in lush greenery overlooking tranquil rice fields — a serene setting matched by its impeccable service and refined design. In Bangkok, the list continues with two riverside gems: the legendary Mandarin Oriental Bangkok and the Art Deco–inspired The Siam, both perched along the River of Lords, where glimpses of the old river life still unfold in timeless rhythm.

Old Souls, New Stays: Thai Luxury Hotels Reclaim Their Story

Despite being one of Asia’s most visited destinations with a growing lineup of sleek modern hotels, Thailand stays rooted in tradition — showcasing cultural heritage and timeless design alongside its famed hospitality. Dusit Thani Bangkok — the legendary Thai hospitality icon with origins in the 1970s — returns with a fresh design by one of Asia’s most renowned designers, André Fu, and every room now features large picture windows overlooking Lumphini Park.

Another highlight in 2025 is the return of one of the world’s preeminent luxury brands, Aman, to Thailand. After success in New York and Tokyo, Aman Nai Lert Bangkok comes to the Thai capital with a blend of traditional design and the brand’s signature minimalist luxury, all nestled in the greenery of Nai Lert Park – a true sanctuary amidst the concrete jungle that rivals in tranquillity even the original Aman in Phuket.

Thailand’s Quiet Coastlines

Beyond Thailand’s famous tourist hotspots, the Land of Smiles still holds quiet coastal gems. Among the latest MICHELIN-Key selections are lesser-known beach destinations that offer all the same sand and sun with less of the typical crowds. Take Phang Nga — the serene sister to cheeky Phuket — where four MICHELIN-Key hotels offer luxury, tranquility, and a deep connection to nature, including Aleenta Resort & Spa, The Sarojin, Six Senses Yao Noi and Iniala Beach House, which features a One MICHELIN Star restaurant by a renowned British chef.

Meanwhile, along the tranquil coastline of Western Thailand, Prachuap Khiri Khan offers a more local, laid-back escape. Here, three MICHELIN-Key hotels — Anantara Hua Hin Resort & Spa, V Villas Hua Hin, and Aleenta Hua Hin — reflect their region’s relaxed charm and understated elegance. Over to the eastern Gulf of Thailand, two -One MICHELIN-Key hotels — Andaz Pattaya Jomtien Beach and MASON Pattaya — join the 2025 selection. Set in Chon Buri’s long-standing resort town, these are the spots near a lively seafront promenade, bustling shopping malls, neon-lit nightlife, and a growing roster of MICHELIN-recognized restaurants.
