In the two decades since the original Bulgari hotel opened in Milan, the brand has expanded slowly and remained true to its inspiration; the same designers, Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel, were responsible for the Bulgari Hotel Beijing, set in the city’s relatively verdant embassy district. It’s typically luxe, with everything from butler service to Maserati car service, and the rooms and suites are tastefully extravagant. Among other highlights are the Michelin-starred Il Ristorante - Niko Romito, featuring contemporary Italian cuisine, as well as the elegant Bulgari Bar and the stylish Lounge; the hotel’s spa, with its subterranean mosaic-tile pool, is every bit the equal of its Milanese counterpart.
