Johann Schmuck runs his chic modern restaurant in the basement of a historical mill that dates back to 1581 – tables on the terrace overlooking the Stainzbach River are coveted in summer. He and Maximilian Grandtner are jointly in charge of the kitchen. They propose a modern and seasonal surprise menu comprising three, five or seven courses, as well as the "All in" version, which has nine courses – including amuse-bouches and petit fours. Most of the ingredients used are locally sourced. A vegetarian set menu is also available. Alternatively, there is the "Mühle" (mill) menu: an à la carte selection of dishes. The friendly and professional service team includes sommelier Joachim Retz, who specialises in wines from Styria and Burgenland. Tip: Enjoy an aperitif in the bar lounge.
