Make for the sultry basement bar for a cocktail or two before heading back up to the atmospheric ground floor restaurant with its dim lighting and on-trend soundtrack. The chefs might be Latvian but the cuisine here is contemporary Japanese. Start with a selection of sushi and tempura, then choose something from the robata grill; the black cod with sweet miso is a hit, and the mochi ice cream is the perfect way to finish. There’s a vibrancy and freshness to the cooking, yet it still respects the fundamentals of Japanese cuisine.
