After completing stints at renowned establishments, Theresia Palmetzhofer returned home, and she has been running this charming restaurant with her dedicated team since 2016. Modernisation work saw the historical walls and structures of the 500-year-old building carefully preserved and given an inviting, upscale look. In addition, the property boasts a gorgeous terrace. The boss herself heads up the kitchen and presents a pleasingly concise seasonal menu featuring classic and regional dishes with a modern twist, such as celeriac with a cheese foam, apple and buckwheat, or saddle of venison served rare with Brussels sprouts, red cabbage and potato pillows. The emphasis is firmly on locally sourced ingredients. Heavily centred on Austria, the excellent wine list also showcases French and Italian labels. A range of natural wines is additionally available.
