Foodies around the world can now purchase the first MICHELIN Guide dedicated to fine Cantonese cuisine. Fine Cantonese Food by the MICHELIN Guide 2018-2019: Asia, Europe and USA is the first edition from Michelin to focus on a specific regional cuisine.
“The MICHELIN Guide recognizes the international acclaim achieved by Cantonese gastronomy, and we celebrate its culinary influence in Asia, Europe, North America and around the Pacific,” says Gwendal Poullennec, international director for the MICHELIN Guide.
The Cantonese edition of the MICHELIN Guide pays tribute to one of the most famous Chinese cuisine types, which has inspired multiple traditions and has attracted gourmets from around the world. In addition to celebrating these particular traditions and techniques, the Cantonese Guide also illustrates the versatile expertise of the Michelin inspectors, demonstrating their ability to apply the MICHELIN Guide’s universal criteria consistently even across the most varied cuisines.
This Cantonese selection includes:
• 4 three-star restaurants
• 11 two-star restaurants
• 63 one-star restaurants
• 62 Bib Gourmand restaurants
• 151 MICHELIN Plate restaurants
With a selection that also includes the best restaurants in each category of comfort and price, the MICHELIN Guide is recognized globally for excellence and quality. The Guide was first published in France more than 100 years ago, in the early days of auto and leisure travel. Inspectors today apply the same time-honored criteria in more than 30 countries around the world.
