Exercise facilities used to be a hotel perk, but not an expectation. Guests would be lucky to find a creaky treadmill and a couple of dumbbells. Nowadays, fitness and wellness are increasingly priorities for travelers—and hotels are answering the call. So much so that renowned fitness brands like Equinox are tossing their hats into the hospitality ring, offering travelers accommodations where fitness is central to the experience.

We’ve rounded up our favorite MICHELIN hotels where the fitness facilities aren’t just an afterthought—they’re a key part of the destination.

Equinox Hotel Hudson Yards
Midtown West

The Equinox brand already owns the high end of New York’s fitness-club scene, and with its entry in the West Side’s vast Hudson Yards development, it’s making a play for the hospitality scene as well. Equinox Hotel Hudson Yards New York City is unrelentingly high-end, with architecture by SOM and interiors by Rockwell Group and Joyce Wang. The rooms and suites are ultra-modern and ultra-luxurious, as is the spa and its vast Equinox-branded health club, complete with SoulCycle studio. The fitness club features an indoor pool and an outdoor rooftop pool—the latter offers striking views of the surrounding area, including the iconic Vessel. Personal training sessions and pilates courses are also available. Among its restaurants is Electric Lemon, featuring fresh and inventive mid-Atlantic fare by restaurateur Stephen Starr.

Pendry Manhattan West
Manhattan West

Pendry, the urban luxury imprint of Montage Resorts, made a bold debut in New York City. Their first hotel, Pendry Manhattan West, anchors itself in the transformative Hudson Yards redevelopment, which is reshaping Midtown’s west side. Housed in a striking undulating glass tower by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the hotel nudges New York’s luxury hospitality scene closer to the Hudson River.

Among its standout features is a 1,700-square-foot Fitness Center and Movement Studio, equipped with cutting-edge Technogym machines and Peloton bikes. Open 24/7, this wellness amenity ensures that fitness fits into any schedule.

The Standard High Line
Meatpacking District

Harmony is the idea behind the The Standard High Line's design. Elevated by piers, the property straddles the famed former elevated rail line turned public park. Even the hotel interior feels utopian, decked out in a retro-future style that pays homage to Scandinavian mid-century modernism — a welcome departure from the industrial grit that prevails in the Meatpacking District. The fitness facility features floor-to-ceiling windows with clear Hudson River and skyline views, plus state-of-the-art equipment: elliptical machines, treadmills, Peloton bikes, yoga balls, free weights, and more. It's far from your standard hotel gym, and ideal for achieving some balance while traveling.

The Wall Street Hotel
Financial District

Lower Manhattan’s financial district, known to locals as FiDi, offers more charm than its corporate environs suggest—the Wall Street Hotel perfectly captures this appeal. Housed within the historic Tontine Building, which occupies the site of a coffee house that once served as the birthplace of the stock exchange, this 19th-century Beaux-Arts landmark has been reimagined as a lux boutique hotel. The 180-room property blends its storied past with modern decor, featuring Australian Aboriginal art and design elements that truly span its timeline, from 1855 to today.

The Wall Street Hotel also caters to wellness-minded guests with their state-of-the-art fitness center. Equipped with the latest in exercise technology, the facility ensures that visitors can find some balance during their stay. Finding the motivation to power through another set feels a bit easier when surrounded by views of the neighborhood’s Beaux-Arts and Neoclassical architectural gems. This blend of wellness, history, and luxury makes it a standout destination in Lower Manhattan.
