MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

Patrick Guilbaud is one of Ireland’s most celebrated chefs and his well-regarded restaurant is high on the list of any serious foodie. He has run a tight ship here for many years and has certainly earned his place in Irish culinary history.
Hidden within a Georgian townhouse, the restaurant oozes sophistication and luxury courtesy of features such as a gilt barrel ceiling and hand-crafted marquetry. Meanwhile, the ever-present owners work their way around the room, warmly welcoming every diner and making them feel special.
Accomplished, original cooking is rooted in the traditional French school but also introduces modern techniques. Bold flavours are superbly balanced, presentation is stunning, and luxurious Irish ingredients are always to the fore. Desserts are a highlight and both the wine cellar and the wine list are works of art.
