The Ritz-Carlton Tenerife, Abama is no precious little boutique. It’s a vast upscale hotel and villa complex, with eight swimming pools, a golf course, a private beach, a full spa — but set in spaces that embody earthy chic rather than bland corporate anti-style. Located atop a cliff in Guía de Isora, on the western shore of the island, the Abama consists of the Citadel, a large asymmetrical building housing most of the guest rooms, and a series of private villas.
The villas, of course, are more spacious and private than the standard suites. But all guest lodgings feature simple, plush décor in natural hues of sand and stone, airy bathrooms worth lingering in, and private terraces with expansive views of the Atlantic — not to mention the complimentary glass of champagne that greets each guest upon arrival. Meanwhile the hotel’s restaurants serve up varied cuisine from fresh seafood to Argentine steak to Japanese noodle dishes.
Please note: The Lagoon Pool will be undergoing renovation from 31 May to 26 July 2026. During the Lagoon Pool closure the Cascade Pool will be available for guests to use.
