The luxurious Grand Palace Hotel plays host to this sumptuous restaurant, as well as a supremely comfortable bar which comes packed with antiques and fine art – be sure to either start or end your night here. The seasonal dishes showcase Latvian produce where possible and are themed around the world’s greatest painters. If you spot it on the menu, the wonderful lightly smoked trout with bearnaise sauce is a joy to eat, while the toffee pudding with buttermilk sorbet is a must. The wine list contains some premium bottles, while the plush bedrooms provide a chance for you to sample more than one.
