Gourmet Capital Austria: The MICHELIN Guide Returns to the Alpine Republic

The MICHELIN Guide is making its long-awaited return to Austria. On January 21, 2025, Michelin will unveil its restaurant selection for the country, marking a new chapter in its Austrian history. The ceremony will take place at the iconic Hangar-7, located at Salzburg Airport.

The last national edition of the MICHELIN Guide Austria was published in 2009. Now, this revival highlights Austria’s diverse appeal as a gastronomic destination.
"In recent years, Austria has solidified its position as a globally attractive travel destination, thanks to its growing culinary scene and a hospitality culture that resonates throughout the nation," says Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guide.

The organizers have chosen Hangar-7 as a remarkable venue to celebrate Austrian gastronomy and convey an ambitious vision of culinary art and lifestyle. Hangar-7 offers a globally unique combination of aircraft hangar, art gallery, gastronomy, and experiential space.

The new MICHELIN Stars for Austria will be unveiled live during the ceremony, attended by chefs, restaurateurs, and industry figures. The full restaurant selection of the MICHELIN Guide Austria 2025 will be available here and on the MICHELIN Guide app following the ceremony.
